ana-garcia-pineda.blogspot.com.es

Ana García-Pineda holds a degree in Fine Art from the University of Barcelona and the Universität der Künste Berlin (2006). Her drawings reflect her peculiar vision of the world. Small illustrated aphorisms or minimalist maxims with a touch of naive, absurd humour that can overturn our beliefs, or at least lead us to question them.

In 2016, she presented Bocadillos (Galería SIS, Sabadell, 2016) and La ficción es una realidad por suceder (Espai 13, Fundació Miró, Barcelona, 2016).

She has also taken part in several group exhibitions, including: Residents (Museu d’Art de Sabadell, 2016); Los jardines Inquietos (Centre d’Art La Panera, Lleida, 2015); Untitled (Espai del Campanar, Sabadell, 2015); Rafael Patxot. Mecenes, científic…, l’home (Espai Santa Caterina de Girona, Museu d’Història de Sant Feliu de Guíxols, Museu de Granollers, 2015); Sekw (Galería 6+1, Madrid, 2014); Crónica. Narración, historia y subjetividad (Fabra i Coats, Barcelona, 2014); and Un dilema. L’art contemporani i la inversió en la incertesa (Arts Santa Mònica, Barcelona, 2013).

Her screenings and performances include: Oblidar –performance– (XARXA ZANDE, Arts Santa Mònica, 2016); 23-4-16 88 –performance– (Festival Plaga, Nook, 2016); Videocreación Joven Catalana (Auditorio CICUS, Sevilla, 2015); H I –performance– (Turku Biennial, Aboa Vetus Ars Nova Museum, Turku, 2011); Cosmopolitan Barcelona (Dia Art Foundation, New York, 2008); Vidioteque, as part of the exhibition Calypso (Sala Rekalde, Bilbao, 2008); Component de quotidianitat (Espacio Movistar, Barcelona, 2008). School Doctor Puigvert

www.insdrpuigvert.org

Institut Doctor Puigvert is a secondary school in the Sant Andreu district of Barcelona, close to the Trinitat intersection and the banks of the River Besòs. This plural, active, participative state school has taken part in four previous editions of IN RESIDENCE. The fourth edition (2012-2013), with Lluís Bisbe, produced the work Desalumnologia [Depupilology], installed at the school itself. The artist-in-residence for the fifth edition (2013-2014) was Jaume Ferrete; at the sixth (2014-2015), Francesc Ruiz, and at the seventh, Luz Broto. Once more, then, Institut Doctor Puigvert links its participation in the programme through a group of first-year ESO compulsory secondary education pupils.

Institut Doctor Puigvert is very close to the Trinitat road network and the course of the Besòs river. It was opened in 1985, although the current building was not inaugurated until the 1991-92 school year. Its faculty agreed to name it the Institut Doctor Puigvert in honour of the urologist Antoni Puigvert (1905-1990), whose childhood was closely linked to Sant Andreu.
