He is a sound and visual artist. His work mainly revolves around the study of the relationship between humans and technology, as well as the interaction between movement and sound. The work embraces a wide range of research areas: instruments, interfaces, biometric data, gestures, biomusicology, video games and nature, through digital techniques such as game engines, sound synthesis, 3D and immersive techniques and artificial intelligence.
His main solo project, Shoeg, focuses on exploring this relationship between movement and sound. In the last few years, he has presented work on various labels (Orange Milk, 901 Editions, Nyapster) and immersive experiences in venues such as MUTEK Montreal and Mexico, Sónar+D, MIRA Festival, SONICA Glasgow, LEV Festival, Eufònic and Keroxen.
Between 2020 and 2022, he directed the liturgy-performance ‘ACTE DE FE’, a project that questions our relationship with machines, combining real-time AI support with a ceremony shared with Adrià Grandia, Marc Vilajuana and Estel Juvanteny. Since 2013, he has been collaborating with the dancer Anna Hierro as a member of the collective Ensemble Topogràfic, and since 2018 with the drummer David Viñolas, at VOID. He has worked with other artists such as Ana Drucker, artur m puga or Xavi Lloses, and is a regular collaborator of dance companies as a musical composer and live performer.

He comes from Sant Hilari Sacalm (Les Guilleries), which is a mountain village surrounded by woodland with an industrial suburban feel. At the age of eight, he left to study at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the UB-University of Barcelona (2014-2018), but also to be able to explore more freely who and what he wants to be. He has been on a testosterone hormone regimen for eleven months and has spent three years in gender transition in the social sphere. He has a close relationship with Les Guilleries woodlands, the town and its spaces, even though he has a lot of work and social life in the city.
After finishing his degree in Fine Arts, he started a Master's degree in Visual Arts and Art Education, also at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the UB (2019-2021). His dissertation “Sobre l'aprenentatge de la responsabilitat a l'escola neo-rural de Lliurona” (On the learning of responsibility in the neo-rural school of Lliurona) focuses on social constructivism, intersectional feminism, new materialisms, posthumanism and post-qualitative research, the theory of the network actor and object-oriented ontology, etc. From there, he developed a genuine interest in everything through art, education and research in and from art.
After finishing his Master's degree, he worked at the Fundació Brossa (2023), has been giving painting workshops at the Tremp d'ou since 2020, and in 2021 he entered the Escola d'Arts Visuals del Prat del Llobregat (2021-2023). Once there, he spent one and a half years in the painting workshop, working with people of all ages and functional diversities. This September he started working at Interseccions as an “educator” and artistic mediator.

School Joan Salvat-Papasseit
www.institutsalvatpapasseit.netThe Institut Joan Salvat Papasseit was created in 1979, under the name of "Institut Nacional de Bachillerat Barceloneta". The location of the institute will take advantage of the facilities of the old metallurgical factory "La Maquinista Terrestre i Marítima". The grounds of the old naval factory are also home to the Institut Narcís Monturiol (specialising in chemistry training courses), the Escola Alexandre Galí, the Escola Bressol Municipal la Mar and the Centre d'Educació Ambiental la Fàbrica del Sol. A few metres from the Somorrostro beach, the Salvat Papasseit is also very close to the Barceloneta Civic Centre, the Mediterrània School and the Barcelona Biomedical Research Centre.
