Iván Morales (Barcelona, 1979) spent his childhood precociously taking part in the alternative scene of the 1980s and early-1990s, contributing to free radio stations and publishing underground fanzines in Spain and the USA. At the age of eight he made his debut as an actor on TV3 and, four years later, first appeared on stage, in Sergi Belbel’s Carícies at the Teatre Romea. Since then, he has pursued an acting career spanning twenty-five years, appearing in countless television series, plays and films at the order of authors and directors like Sílvia Quer, Marc Martínez, Agustí Villaronga, Julio Wallowits, Daniel Monzón and Dario Argento. At the same time, he has been a writer (Mi dulce, El truco del manco) film director (Ha llegado el momento de contarte mi secreto, Dibujo de David) and playwright ( de un lugar, Els desgraciats, Jo mai, Cleòpatra, Sueño de una noche de verano, versión de Deisy Portaluppi, etc.).

The year 2017 finds him directing Kate Tempest’s Wasted, and Pares nostres, featuring texts by Marta Aguilar, Marta Buchaca, Victoria Szpunberg and Lluïsa Cunillé, as well as preparing a Catalan-language production of Martin MacDonagh’s play A Skull in Connemara (La calavera de Connemara). He is also working on Juanjo Sáez’s new TV series, Heavies tendres, as a scriptwriter and director of acting. Finally, he is preparing his latest theatre production, Esmorza amb mi, in which he is both author and director.
