Kernel Dance Theatre IN RESiDENCE at the School Moisès Broggi
Over the years, Kernel Dance Theatre has worked on various projects that talk about prejudice, such as “AM I BRUCE LEE” (the view on people of Asian descent) and ‘LÓNG’ (the distance that is generated by the difference between cultures). This time, we will use the conceptual framework of “OUT OF LINE” (meaning: everything that is not right, that is not appropriate or that exceeds the limits of what we understand as reasonable and acceptable), one of the company's current creations, which deals with how prejudice can condition and even marginalise us.
Our aim is to go beyond our methodology with the aim of working from a collective and horizontal perspective, and to reflect on our way of managing our creations. We also share the reflections that we deal with during the making of our shows. We use martial arts and dance techniques to bring movement closer to those people who are not so familiar with it, so that they can learn and become acquainted with our language.
