laianoal.comLaia Noal (Barcelona, 1985)
Her artistic work focuses on investigating the relationship that humans have with nature. Noal works from the construction we make of the landscape and the territories we inhabit, investigating how we constantly intervene and influence them, whether directly or indirectly.
Based on this focal point, she has carried out several projects, including “Poètiques de la destrucció”, exhibited at the Lab36 gallery (Barcelona, 2023), “Jardins sota l'asfalt”, exhibited at Can Basté, CC Pere Pruna and CC Guinardó (Barcelona) as part of Temporals 2023, and “8”, exhibited at Tinta Invisible (Barcelona, 2024).
She has a degree in Humanities (Pompeu Fabra University, 2018) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (University of Barcelona, 2019), and has received several grants, including a scholarship from the Royal Artistic Circle of Barcelona (2013) and an exchange scholarship to study at Cooper Union University in New York (2017). She has participated in several group exhibitions such as “Processos emergents” at the Fundació Felícia Fuster (Barcelona, 2012), “Gear Over” (New York, 2017), “Guinovart després de Guinovart”, at the Espai Guinovart in Agramunt (Lleida, 2021), “Contemporary Voices 2022”, at Plataforma2 (Barcelona, 2022) and “Aparadors artístics” (Barcelona, 2023). She has been a finalist in the Fundació Vila Casas Sculpture Prize (2018 and 2021), the Canyelles City Council Painting Prize (2018), the “Premi Agbar - Ciutat de Barcelona 2021” (2021), the XXIV Certamen de Pintura Frida Kahlo (2021), and the III Premio Nacional de Pintura Ocaña (2021). School Pau Claris
iespauclaris.orgThis is the third time the Pau Claris School has participated in IN RESiDENCE. After the residencies of Edu Comelles (6th edition, 2014-2015), mediated by A Bao A Qu, and Txalo Toloza and Laida Azkona (10th edition, 2018-2019), mediated by Antic Teatre, Pau Claris is once again taking part in the programme, with a group of 4th year secondary school students.

The Pau Claris School (Ciutat Vella) is on Passeig de Lluís Companys, next to the Parc de la Ciutadella and the neighbourhoods of Sant Pere, la Ribera and Santa Caterina. The building is part of the Pere Vila School Group, designed by the architect Josep Goday i Casals as part of the educational programme that Catalan political institutions have been implementing since 1917. It was completed during the Second Spanish Republic. The building also contained the Pere Vila School and a third building dedicated to the library and assembly hall.
