Laura Llaneli IN RESiDENCE at the School Barres i Ones

She is an artist and musician who lives in Barcelona. She studied music and then Graphic Design at university. She has a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona (UB) and obtained a Master's degree in Sound Art and a Master's degree in teacher training from the same university. Nowadays, she teaches at Metàfora Studio Arts, Master in Teacher Training (UB), Massana Permanent, and collaborates with the DAR project (Dones Artistes Rurals) and Postgraduate in Scene and Technology (Institut del Teatre).
She is represented by ADN Galeria and her awards include Art For Change 2019, Premi Miquel Casablancas 2018, Premi Embarrat 2017 and Barcelona Producció 2014 (La Capella). She has held collective exhibitions in national and international venues such as Lo Pati (Amposta), The Clementes's (NYC), Palacio Condes de Gabia (Granada), Centro Rafael Botí (Córdoba), Tecla Sala (L'Hospitalet), Casa de Velázquez (Madrid) and many others. Individual exhibitions have also been held at Fundació Joan Brossa, Casal Solleric, Adn Galería, Fundació Joan Miró Barcelona, Casaplan (Valparaíso), Swinton&Grant (Madrid), Art3 (France). She has performed at festivals such as Asistir 2022 (Mexico), Signal Reload (Cerdenya), Intermediale (Poland), Mixtur, Poesia i+, CAAMSonora, LEM, Tsonami IX Xile) and Eufònic. She has held artistic residencies in spaces such as Casa de Velázquez (Madrid), Dolomiti Contempoanee, Art3 Valence, Lo Pati (Balada, Amposta), MMSU Rijeka, Suralita Manacor, Estruch (Sabadell) and Hangar (Barcelona).
Her work explores the relationship between production and sound experience, language and contemporary visual arts practices. She focuses on how variations have an impact on stable patterns and structures in certain cultural products, testing language's resistance as a code or sound as a social icon. Her work focuses on artistic/musical production, education and research, with projects that take the form of concerts, installations, performances and publications.
Laura Llaneli is back to participate in IN RESiDENCE, after having participated in the 9th edition (2017-2018), at the Quatre Cantons School (Poblenou, Barcelona), with a group of 3rd and 4th year secondary school students and with the mediation of A Bao A Qu. As a result, the work, “RÀBIA, POTÈNCIA I SOMNOLÈNCIA”, was presented at Espai 2 of Galeria Àngels Barcelona (2018) and, subsequently, at the collective exhibition “Aquí hem trobat un espai per pensar. 10 anys EN RESiDÈNCiA” (2019, Fabra i Coats: Centre d'Art, Barcelona).

School Barres i Ones
https://agora.xtec.cat/insbarresiones/Barres i Ones School (Llefià, Badalona) is participating for the first time in IN RESiDENCE. Open since 1986, the current building was inaugurated during the 1990-1991 academic year, under the name of “Badalona 8”. In 1993, following a student competition, the current name was changed to the Barres i Ones School, in a clear reference to the iconography of the school in the city of Badalona.
