Lautaro Reyes IN RESiDENCE at the School Narcís Monturiol
This proposal comes from a series of research processes that I have been developing since 2018. Through different artist residencies, I begin to collect and systematise information that allows me to produce choreographic practices, which eventually become pedagogical devices of collective creation.
For this project, the first initiative is to propose research and creation methodologies, where all process participants are the creators of the content and its form: Students, teachers and choreographer.
The methodologies are created to trigger a series of exercises that are expressed through gesture, movement and choreography in space. This space and its divisions are designed to produce a transit between the different roles that the performing arts provoke: The people who observe, the people who imagine, and the people who produce the movement. Creating a way of constructing that is broader than what only occurs on a traditional stage.
The exercises that are triggered are tools to use the imagination from different stimuli that become gestures or movement. The important thing here is that we will be proposing and exchanging collectively what these stimuli are, establishing a common responsibility for what is being built.
Initially, the creative process will be divided into three parts:
- Theoretical research
- Body practices
- Choreographic production
The main aim of the methodology and of the final work is to give space and priority to the imagination of the group of pupils, and that their subjectivities and the dialogue between them be the pulse that produces the scenic landscapes that will unfold in this new creation.
