Martina Manyà IN RESiDENCE at the School Josep Serrat i Bonastre
What does a colour transmit? How does it relate to other colours? What impact does it have on us? And what environmental impact does it have? Where do the paints come from? What journey have the materials taken before being in a painting? What do the materials used in the artworks tell us?
These questions will guide the creative process, proposing a shared reflection on colour, in an artistic, symbolic and emotional sense, but also in a material sense, to initiate an investigation into how we can make the practice of painting more sustainable.
The idea is to recycle and re-use materials, both as support and in the production of the paintings themselves, and thus experiment with natural paints, ecological pigments and less polluting agglutinants.
In addition, Joan Miró's image and the possibility of linking up with the Fundació Joan Miró as an opportunity to develop these and many other issues will also be explored.
