Silvia Sant IN RESiDENCE at the School Montjuïc
https://www.silviasantfunk.com/A coach, teacher, dancer and choreographer.
After twenty years dedicated to contemporary dance as a dancer, choreographer and teacher, I am interested in the benefits that body awareness, movement and creative work provide for any individual person, whatever their age or condition.
I therefore complement my personal research with NLP, Social Presencing Theatre and Existential Coaching, in order to achieve more profound knowledge about the human condition.
I currently give training courses entitled “The Intelligent Body” to private individuals, young people, organisations and companies who wish to regain a connection with their own bodies and wisdom, touching on fundamental questions such as presence, communication, interpersonal relationships and creativity. I also undertake individual coaching processes. Less frequently, but with the same passion, I keep my dedication to performing-arts creation alive, developing my own work and collaborating with other creators.
In the last four years, I have been a trainer in the Tot Dansa project and I wish to bring the language of dance and performing-arts creation to young secondary-school students in the area. During this intense contact with young people, I discover the expressive potential of adolescents and the positive impact of creative experiences based on action.
My current artistic research is related to exploring the polarity of within and without. How vulnerability of any kind apparently tends to be overcome by creating physical, imaginary or real divisions. Using various creative devices, I seek to make these polarities plausible, in order to suggest new forms, spaces and imagery through their cracks.

The Institut Montjuïc has been serving Zona Franca for more than thirty years. Its participation in EN RESiDÈNCiA is linked to the desire to create more connections between the centre and the social and cultural agents of the neighbourhood and the city and, at the same time, to promote the artistic interests of its students.
